Campaign Story

Nikolas is a 58-year-old man, who over the past few years, has been experiencing an uphill struggle. It all started about 6 years ago, when Nikolas suddenly presented with dysarthria and inability to move his extremities. The father, who was 52 years old at that time, was rushed to a public hospital of Athens, and after a series of tests, he was diagnosed with a stroke. 

To this day, Nikolas has suffered numerous strokes, which have greatly affected his speech and motor skills. Nikolas is now confined to a wheelchair, unable to fend for himself. Nikolas’ and his family’s lives have changed dramatically, since his wife had to leave her job in order to take care of him and their son, who is on the spectrum. 

Nikolas’ family needs a platform stair lift, which will ensure his safe and effortless transfer from the second floor to the ground floor. His wife, however, has found herself in a dead end. She doesn’t have the means to purchase the stair lift, while Nikolas’ health-related expenses keep on increasing. Not knowing where else to turn, she reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS. As soon as we received his files, we took all necessary action in order to support this family who is going through hard times!

Nikolas’ life has been shattered into pieces. All these years, the 58-year-old man and his family have been suffering in silence. Today, however, they need our help. We cannot turn our backs on them. We’ll do everything in our power, in order to improve their everyday life.
