46-year-old Christina, a mother of 2 children, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Currently, she is being subjected to all of the necessary treatments that are being performed in a public hospital of the country. Till this day, she has been subjected to 8 chemo rounds, while she recently underwent a surgical operation, when the doctors successfully removed the entire tumor. However, after taking into consideration the metastatic nature of her cancer, and according to the treatment protocol, the doctors strongly recommend that the young mother is subjected to further treatments for the next 12 months, in order to prevent any recurrence. Christina is a resident of a small town and she must constantly travel to and from the city of Thessaloniki, in order to be subjected to all the necessary treatments and further diagnostic tests. Furthermore, she has to settle the payments towards her health policy, so that she will be able to proceed with her treatments, which are scheduled to take place in the near future. The amount required for all of the above, amounts to 4,095 euros, a sum that she cannot possibly gather without our support.
