Andreas  is 27 years old and he is suffering from spastic quadriplegia, resulting from a severe

motorcycle accident. When he was 19 years old, he lost control of his motorcycle. As a

result, he suffered severe chest injuries. Andreas was rushed to the ICU, where he suffered

multiple cardiac arrests. Even though the doctors managed to resuscitate him, he suffered

severe neurological damages due to the decreased blood flow and oxygen to the brain.

8 years later, Andreas is still being confined to a bed, suffering from epileptic crises. Since

the accident, he hasn’t been able to move his extremities or speak, while he is being daily

subjected to a home-based physiotherapy treatment plan, which aims to alleviate his pain,

caused by the joint stiffness.

All of these years, his parents have never left his side, doing everything that they possibly

can in order to offer their son a better quality of life. However, they have now reached a

dead end, while they are unable to cope with the ever-increasing expenses related to his

health condition. Andreas requires medication, physiotherapy sessions and a variety of

medical expendables for his daily care, which are only partially covered by their health

insurance.

Andreas’ life turned into a nightmare from one minute to the next. We cannot turn back

time. We can however, facilitate his daily struggle. Any contribution can make a great
