Eleni is a four-year-old little angel, who has been struggling ever since she came into this world, since she was born extremely premature due to the severe health problems her mother had been facing during pregnancy. Eleni had to spend the first 2 months of her life in the NICU, while her mother passed away when she was just 2 years old. 

Today, Eleni is presenting with severe mobility issues, while she still hasn’t been able to speak. She is wearing glasses and hearing aid, however she is fully aware of her surroundings, since her cognitive skills were not affected by her premature birth. The little fighter is regularly subjected to physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy sessions, while she will soon enroll in a therapeutic swimming program. These treatments are essential for her overall development, while according to the professionals who monitor her progress, her treatments need to immediately increase in frequency, something that has brought this single-parent family to a dead end. 

The little girl’s father is unable to afford the additional treatments, since he is currently recovering after suffering severe injuries to both legs, resulting from a work-related accident. Not knowing where else to turn, he reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS. As soon as the Organization’s interdisciplinary staff reviewed Eleni’s case, they immediately took all necessary steps in order to support this family who are going through hard times. 

Little Eleni has been struggling ever since she came into this world, however she won’t stop smiling and hoping for a better future. We have the power to help her reach her developmental milestones and to live a life without health problems. Together, we can make it happen!
