Campaign Story

Nikolas is an adorable 4-month baby, who has been fighting for his life ever since he came into this world. When he was born, the doctors discovered that the baby was suffering from anal atresia, therefore he was immediately transferred to the NICU, in order to be subjected to additional tests. The test results were heart-breaking, since the doctors discovered more birth defects, such as esophageal atresia and intestinal stenosis. Nikolas had to be immediately subjected to surgery, since his life was in danger. The surgical team tried their best in order to keep this baby alive, since it’s extremely rare for a baby to present with all of these birth defects. However, the little guy won the battle, since he was subjected to 2 more surgeries, which were a complete success.

Little Nikolas has spent the first 77 days of his life in the hospital, while so far he has been subjected to 3 surgical procedures. About a month ago, the little guy finally returned home, where he is enjoying the love and warmth of his family. He currently has a colostomy and he consumes a specific type of formula, while he needs to be subjected to additional surgeries, aiming to restore the intestinal function.

Nikolas’ family has been living a nightmare, since their baby has been facing an uphill struggle ever since he came into this world. Frequent hospitalizations and doctor’s visits, specific diet regimen, medical expendables for his daily care, as well as a home-based physiotherapy program, have brought the family to a dead end, since they are unable to afford all of these additional expenses, especially since they already have a 2-and-a-half-year-old at home.

Our little fighter still has a long way ahead of him, however he has already proven how strong he is and how much he wants to fight for his life and for a future full of health!!

Let us all stand by his side during this ordeal!

Let us all join forces for our beloved Nikolas!
