Christos-Stilianos is an 11-year-old boy, who has been facing severe health problems, since right after he was born, he was diagnosed with cerebellar hematomas, which caused damage to his nervous system, and by extension, motor impairment and epileptic seizures. Furthermore, Christos-Stilianos has been also diagnosed with short bowel syndrome and iron deficiency anaemia. As a result, he needs to be regularly subjected to blood and ferritin transfusions.

Campaign Story

Christos-Stilianos is an 11-year-old boy, who has been facing severe health problems, since he has been diagnosed with short bowel syndrome, iron deficiency anaemia and motor impairment, while he is also experiencing epileptic seizures and muscular spasms.

The child was born premature, while the doctors soon diagnosed him with cerebellar hematomas, which caused damage to his nervous system. As a result, he had to be subjected to numerous surgical procedures, while he had to spend the first six months of his life in the hospital.

11 years later, Christos-Stilianos is still experiencing motor difficulties, while he can only walk with support. After all the surgeries he has been subjected to, he has also been diagnosed with short bowel syndrome, which means that his body cannot properly absorb all the nutrients. Even though he is 11 years old, his height and weight is way below normal, while he has to be subjected to blood and ferritin transfusions on a monthly basis.

Tests, hospitalizations, anti-epileptic medication, iron supplements, medical expendables, orthopaedic equipment and physiotherapy sessions, are only a part of Christos-Stilianos’ needs. All of these years, his parents have made great sacrifices in order to provide their child with everything he needs. Today however, they have reached a dead-end, since they can no longer cope with the cost of his health-related expenses. Today, these next door heroes are asking for our help.
