Campaign Story

Maria is a 16-year-old girl, who has been struggling ever since she came into this world, as she suffered fetal hypoxia which led to irreversible brain damage. Today, Maria is presenting with spastic quadriplegia, mental impairment and epilepsy. The young girl was never able to speak, while she only eats pureed food. At the same time, she receives medication for her thyroid and her epileptic seizures, while she is subjected to physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, therapeutic horseback riding and therapeutic swimming.

2 years ago, Maria’s mother reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS and thanks to your immediate response, we managed to offer this young girl, the wheelchair, the standing device and the adjustable bed that she required for her daily care, while we also assumed the cost of her home-based treatments for one whole year!

Today, however, Maria’s mother needs our support one more time, since she can no longer afford the immense cost of her treatments. The Organization responded to her call for help immediately, by organizing this aid campaign that will allow the young fighter to proceed with her treatments, which are essential for the improvement of her mobility and swallowing function, while they also have a positive effect on her emotional well-being.

Maria has been struggling ever since she came into this world, in order to achieve what most of us take for granted. Thanks to the program she is subjected to, her condition is gradually showing improvement. We have the power to offer her the chance to fight for a better future! Together, we can make it happen!

If we join our forces, we will make it happen!
