Short Story

This past January, 17-year-old Orestis sustained severe craniocerebral injuries and fractures of the thoracic or lumbar spine, resulting from a motorcycle accident. After spending several months in the hospital, the young fighter gradually regained consciousness, although he lost his right arm after contracting a fungal infection. Orestis is currently hospitalized, while it’s expected that he’ll soon be discharged. The young man still has the gastrostomy and tracheostomy, while he is unable to move his left side. According to the doctors who have been treating him, it’s imperative that he is transferred to a rehabilitation center, where he will be able to undergo a specialized treatment program that will allow him to gradually regain his motor skills.

Orestis is fighting for his life and he urgently needs our help!

Campaign Story

17-year-old Orestis’ life was just beginning. School, friends, carefreeness and dreams for the future. This past January, however, time stood still for this young man, since a motorcycle accident took everything from him. Orestis was rushed to the ICU, since he had sustained severe craniocerebral injuries and fractures of the thoracic or lumbar spine.

Orestis’ parents, who are experiencing every parent’s worst nightmare, are making a public appeal through ACT OF KINDNESS, since they are unable to afford the immense cost of the upcoming inpatient program. Time is running out, since Orestis will be discharged within this month, and he is obviously not ready to return home.

Orestis’ life fell apart from one minute to the next. We cannot turn back time. We can, however, offer him the chance to fight for his life with dignity. So let us all join forces in order to support this young fighter, who is fighting the greatest battle of his life. Together, we can make it happen!

If we join our forces, we will make it happen!
