Little Vaia has been struggling ever since she came into this world along with her twin sister, since she has been diagnosed with mental impairment and spastic quadriplegia. The little girl suffered brain paralysis due to oxygen deprivation at birth, and had to spend the first 4 months of her life in the NICU.

Today, Vaia is 7 years old. She is unable to speak or walk, she is presenting with severe muscular atrophy and joint deformities, while she is also suffering from epileptic seizures. Ever since she was a toddler, Vaia has been subjected to a physiotherapy program, however her motor skills haven’t shown any major improvement, since she is still unable to sit up on her own. 

Vaia’s mother, recently consulted a specialized orthopedic surgeon, who recommended that the child undergoes a surgical procedure, which consists of myofascial lengthening of the lower extremities, combined with alcohol nerve blocking. The procedure in question will significantly improve her motor skills, while preventing the formation of further bone deformities. The surgery will be soon performed in a private facility. When the child returns home, she will also require certain orthopedic devices, which will further improve her daily routine.

All these years, Vaia’s mother has been struggling in order to provide her two little angels with everything they needed. Today however, she has reached a financial dead end, therefore she is unable to cope with the cost of the upcoming surgery and the orthopedic devices.
