Campaign Story
Victoria is just two years old and she is suffering from bilateral blepharoptosis, strabismus and decreased visual acuity. As a result, her vision is severely impaired. So far, she has been subjected to two eye surgeries, however the results weren’t satisfactory. After her last visit at an ophthalmology center in Thessaloniki, the doctors recommended that she underwent another surgery on her left eyelid (silicone implant), while she must also be subjected to genetic testing in order to determine if there are any coexisting conditions. That being said, the family must travel from Athens to Thessaloniki, where they will remain throughout the surgery and the postoperative period, so that her condition will be monitored by the doctors who will be treating her.
It’s imperative that Victoria undergoes this surgery; however her family doesn’t have the means to settle her medical bills. Any delay could further affect her vision, as well as her overall developmental milestones.
