Campaign Story

3-year-old Olivia is suffering from short bowel syndrome and the only way for her parents to feed her is through parenteral nutrition. Her ordeal began immediately after she came into this world, since she was born premature and presented several complications. When she was just 9 days old, she was subjected to surgery, where the doctors had to remove a great part of the small intestine. The little baby had to remain in the NICU for several months, until she was finally discharged.  

Today, she is only being fed through parenteral nutrition, while she requires 24 hour care, as well as a variety of medical expendable supplies, that are extremely expensive. Furthermore, Olivia needs to be daily subjected to speech therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy sessions, which are crucial for her overall health and development.
