Eleni is 51 years old and she is suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a neurodegenerative disease that affects the neurons of the nervous system.  

It all started about 3 years ago, when Eleni would often experience signs of debilitation and paralysis of the lower extremities. After being subjected to an MRI, the doctors recommended that she were subjected to an osteophytectomy. Even though the surgery was successful, her motor skills gradually deteriorated and after a series of diagnostic tests, Eleni received the fatal diagnose.  

Today, Eleni is being confined to a wheelchair, unable to perform any active motion, while her speech is unintelligible. About a month ago, she was admitted to a rehabilitation center, where she is being subjected to an intensive physiotherapy program that aims to prevent muscular atrophy and painful join stiffness.  

It’s imperative that she remains in the rehabilitation center in order for her overall condition to stabilize, however her family doesn’t have the means to cover the unbearable cost of her hospitalization.  

Eleni is fighting an uneven battle against time and she needs our support. Let us join forces and facilitate her struggle with just one small gesture!
