Evaggelia is 38 years old and over the past years, she has been facing heart problems and motor impairment.

<p>She has been diagnosed with diabetes, while in 2010 she was subjected to a heart surgery. However, the most severe problems she has been facing are osteoarthritis of the lower extremities, lower back pain and sciatica. Her condition has deteriorated to the point where she is now unable to get out of bed or fend for herself. Evaggelia is unable to work, therefore she doesn’t have the means to afford the cost of her living and medical expenses. Evaggelia has been struggling for years. Today however, she needs us by her side. Together, we can provide her with everything she needs, until she gets back on her feet. Together, we can offer her a second chance in life!</p>

Evaggelia was subjected to an emergency surgery and she is fighting for her life!

<p>After being in the waiting list for so many months, Evaggelia was finally subjected to a bariatric surgery. The surgery was performed in a public hospital of Athens, however it wasn’t successful, since the woman suffered anastomotic stenosis, along with a variety of other complications. As a result, she couldn’t consume any food or water, while her condition was considered critical. The repair of the anastomotic stenosis couldn’t be performed in a public hospital, since it constitutes a high-risk procedure.<br />
Evaggelia’s life was in immediate danger and something had to be done. Our Organization came in contact with a private clinic of Athens, where an experienced surgical team agreed to take on this high-risk procedure, since the young woman could lose her life. The cost of the surgery amounted to 7.000 Euros, however there was no time to waste. We immediately scheduled her admission to the clinic, while settling the cost of her surgery and hospitalization. The life-saving surgery was performed yesterday, and according to her doctors it was in fact successful, while the stenosis has been repaired to a great degree. Soon, the patient will be able to eat properly, while her health will be gradually restored. For those who aren’t familiar with her case, Evaggelia is a 38-year-old woman who has been experiencing severe health problems, since she has been diagnosed with obesity, diabetes, osteoarthritis and herniations, while she is unable to move and fend for herself. During these past 3 months, and thanks to your defining support, we have managed to cover the cost of her daily expenses, her medication and the expendables she requires on a daily basis. However, we will keep on fighting for Evaggelia, since we have adapted her aid campaign, based on her needs and the health-related expenses that have arisen. Evaggelia has won this battle, however the road to recovery will be long and hard. Today, we must all stand by this woman’s side! Today, she needs us more than ever!</p>

Latest update regarding Evaggelia!

Since the 38-year-old woman’s life was in danger, the Organization scheduled her immediate admission, paying upfront the cost of her surgery and hospitalization! Evaggelia is still unable to consume large portions of food. Due to the diagnosis of morbid obesity and osteoarthritis, as well as the recent surgery she underwent, she has been bedridden for a long period of time. As a result, her muscles have atrophied, therefore she needs to undergo physiotherapy as soon as possible. Evaggelia still has a long way ahead of her in order to get back on her feet. We however, are right beside her. We will stand by Evaggelia until she is able to get out of bed and fend for herself. Since we have you by our side, we are able to help out those who need us!</p>
