Campaign Story

Giorgos is 6 years old and he suffers from congenital hearing loss and psychokinetic delay.

When he was just 2.5 months old, he was diagnosed with Klinefelter syndrome, a chromosomal condition which manifests with speech and motor delay, as well as autism spectrum disorders. As months went by, his parents started to notice that he wouldn’t respond to his name, and after a series of tests, he was diagnosed with congenital hearing loss. For the last few years, Giorgos is being subjected to a combined treatment program that consist of physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy, which combined with the cochlear implant he wears, has played an essential role in his overall development.

However, about a year ago, the cochlear implant suffered great damage and it had to be replaced by the authorized distributors of the hearing aid company. Unfortunately, Giorgos’ family is currently unable to cover the cost of the repair, since their income can only cover their essential needs.
