Campaign Story

Irene Evangelou, 33, has been fighting a hard life battle for a few months now, as she was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma, an aggressive form of stomach cancer. The frequent stomach pains were not so innocent, as tests confirmed the malignancy that spread threateningly to her vital organ. After completing the necessary cycles of chemotherapy, he underwent a total gastrectomy operation, an extremely painful procedure, which, however, had a successful outcome, with the total removal of the tumor.

But her struggle does not end here, as she will undergo new cycles of oncological treatments to combat the disease and prevent its reappearance. Daily travel to and from Thessaloniki, as well as the special diet that Irene needs after the removal of the stomach, burden the family significantly, as a result of which she is no longer able to cope. Diagnostic tests, biopsies and medical procedures that could not be covered by a public hospital create additional needs, which need our immediate intervention to be met.

A mother of 3 underage children is fighting for her life and MUST win this battle. Her children want her by their side healthy and happy. Let’s support the struggle of Peace that needs us today by her side!

We have managed to surpass our funding goal for Irini’s campaign!

Within just a few days, we have managed to cover the needs that have surfaced due to Irini’s condtion, the young mother of 3 children, who is battling cancer. Irini was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer. As a result, she has been subjected to a total gastrectomy. Currently, she is being subjected to oncology treatments (chemotherapy and radiation therapy), in order to avoid any recurrence. Within just a few days, we have settled the cost for the diagnostic tests that couldn’t be conducted in a public facility, the cost for her transportation from the small town where she resides to the hospital of Thessaloniki, as well as her post-operative nutrition.
On behalf of Irini and her family, we would like to kindly thank all of you for your defining support!
Irini, we wish you a speedy recovery, while we sincerely hope that the ordeal you’ve been experiencing soon comes to an end!
