Campaign Story

Eleni is a 19-year-old girl who has been through many challenges, since she lost her mother at the age of 11. Over the past years, the young girl has been living with her grandmother, who has been her primary custodial ever since. A few months ago, however, Eleni had to face one more challenge, since the house where she and her grandmother had been living was burnt to the ground. The two women suddenly found themselves homeless, seeking refuge in the support of family and friends. 

Recently, Eleni and her grandmother leased a new house, where they will be moving in soon. Eleni’s close friends pitched in, in order to raise the first and last month’s rent, while they also procured the essential appliances. However, the two women lost everything in the fire, therefore they need to urgently procure the essential furniture pieces as well. 

Eleni and her grandmother have found themselves in a dead end. The young woman is currently working part time, while her grandmother only receives a small pension. As a result, they are unable to proceed with the purchase of the required home equipment. 

After a thorough inquiry of our social department, ACT OF KINDNESS organized this aid campaign in order to offer a helping hand to these two women who have been experiencing such an immense ordeal.Today, Eleni and her grandmother need us more than ever. We have the power to help them get back on their feet. Together, we can make it happen!
