Campaign Story

Dimitris was an energetic young man, with a great future ahead of him. His life however, turned into shambles when about 6 years ago, he suffered a severe car accident. Even though the doctors managed to save his life, Dimitris sustained craniocerebral injuries, which caused severe brain damage. When Dimitris got discharged from the ICU, he was transferred to a rehabilitation center, where he remained for a long period of time until his condition was stabilized.

For the last few years, Dimitris has been living with his parents. He still has the gastrostomy, while he is often subjected to physiotherapy and speech therapy, since he hasn’t been able to speak or walk yet. After the mother’s call for help, we have managed to cover the cost of the treatments and medical expendables the young man requires, for a period of one and a half years. Today however, Dimitris’ mother needs our help one more time, since she is unable to work, while being the sole care-giver of her son and her husband, who is also not able to fend for himself.

Dimitris’ life turned upside down from one minute to the next. We cannot turn back time. We can, however, facilitate this young fighter’s struggle, with one small gesture!
