Marios is a 2-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with beta thalassemia, since the age of three months old. Ever since the diagnosis, Marios has been facing an ordeal. Fatigue, dizziness and frequent blood transfusions. The family lives in a rural area, therefore they need to often travel to the nearest hospital, so that their child will be subjected to the painful procedure of blood transfusion and iron chelation.

Together, we stand by Marios, the little boy who is constantly subjected to blood transfusions!

Campaign Story

Marios is a 2-year-old boy who has been diagnosed with beta thalassemia. When the little guy was just 3-months-old, he developed a high fever that wouldn’t subside. His parents brought him to the hospital, where he was subjected to blood work. However, the blood count revealed abnormalities, therefore the parents were referred to a hospital of Athens for additional tests and a few days later, Marios was diagnosed with beta thalassemia.

Ever since the diagnosis, Marios has been facing an ordeal. Fatigue, dizziness and frequent blood transfusions. The family lives in a rural area, therefore they need to often travel to the nearest hospital, so that their child will be subjected to the painful procedure of blood transfusion and iron chelation.

All these years, Marios’ parents have done everything in their power to provide their son with everything he needs. Today however, they have reached a financial dead end, while they are unable to cope with the cost of their child’s health-related expenses, as well the cost of their multi-children family’s daily expenses.

Little Marios has been struggling ever since he was just a baby, however he never stops smiling. We must not allow this smile to fade away. Let us all facilitate this young fighter’s struggle, with one small gesture!
