Campaign Story

Aggelos-Marios is a 7-year-old boy who has been daily struggling, since he has been diagnosed with severe speech and motor coordination disorders. When the little guy came into this world, he didn’t seem to experience any health issues. As months went by however, his mother began to notice that the child wasn’t reaching his developmental milestones. At the same time, his physical growth was alarming, since his weight and height was quite low compared to children his age. The little guy was eventually subjected to imaging tests and genetic testing, however the test results didn’t reveal any findings to justify the symptoms he was presenting with.

Over the past few years, the little guy has been subjected to occupational therapy and speech-feeding therapy, and thanks to these treatments, his overall development has shown great improvement. However, the little guy is still unable to form sentences, while his fine motor skills are quite limited. According to the developmental pediatrician who monitors his condition, the child needs to proceed with his treatments, since they are essential for his developmental progress and autonomy.

Aggelos-Marios’s mother, who has been raising him on her own all these years, is doing everything in her power in order to provide her child with the tools he needs in order to thrive. Today however, she is asking for our help, since she can no longer cope with her child’s ever-increasing, health-related expenses. ACT OF KINDNESS’s interdisciplinary staff has recently come in contact with the professionals who monitor the child’s development, and without wasting any precious time, they organized this aid campaign which will allow the little guy to proceed with his treatments.

Aggelos-Marios is daily struggling in order to develop the skills which most of us take for granted. We’ll stand by his side throughout this battle. We join forces for little Aggelos-Marios!
