Campaign Story

Anastasis was an energetic young man, filled with dreams for the future. His life however turned upside down in the summer of 21’, when he suffered a severe car accident. The young man was immediately transferred to the ICU of a hospital in Thessaloniki, where he remained for 4 and a half months, while he had to be subjected to a spinal fusion since he had sustained severe injuries to his spine. In December of 21’, Anastasis was transferred to a rehabilitation centre and thanks to your defining support, we managed to settle the cost of his hospitalization for one whole year.

Today, Anastasis is still struggling for his rehabilitation. He is being subjected to a home-based physiotherapy program and so far it seems that his persistence is paying off, since his condition is showing major improvement. He has regained mobility of his upper extremities, while he can also stand with the help of his crutches. According to his physiotherapist, Anastasis will be able to walk, only if he proceeds with his daily physiotherapy program.

All of these months, Anastasis’ mother has been by his side, while she had to leave her job in order to care for him. Today however, she has reached a dead end and she can no longer cope with the cost of her son’s treatments.

Anastasis has been struggling for the past one and a half years. He fought hard for his life and he made it. Now, he is struggling to get back on his feet and he needs us by his side. Together, we can finance his rehabilitation program and offer him the chance to do so!
