Daniil is a 9-year-old boy, who has been facing a lot of challenges, since he has been diagnosed with severe neurodevelopmental disorders. When Daniil came into this world, he wasn’t presenting with any health problems. As months went by however, his mother began to notice some disturbing patterns. The little boy wouldn’t respond to his name. He seemed withdrawn from the world around him, repeatedly performing the same movements. His parents were anxiously waiting to listen to their child’s first words, however Daniil never got to speak.

Today, little Daniil goes to an elementary school for children with special needs, while he is regularly subjected to speech therapy and occupational therapy, since he is unable to communicate verbally or fend for himself. He cannot get dressed on his own, eat on his own, use the bathroom on his own. He cannot play or make friends, while he is also experiencing severe learning difficulties. However, there is one thing in his life that has intrigued him, and that is swimming. The little guy is extremely talented in swimming and every time he goes to the pool, his face lights up!

However, what worries his parents the most, is the child’s aggressive behavior and his self-harming tendencies. Our Organization recently came in contact with the developmental doctor who monitors his condition, and according to him, it’s important that his parents make some major adjustments to the interior of the house, so that his safety would not be compromised. Furthermore, they should immediately acquire a custom-made bed, which will protect him during his self-harming episodes. All of these modifications mentioned above, combined with an intensive program of speech therapy and occupational therapy, will contribute to his overall neurological and behavioral development.

Little Daniil’s parents have sacrificed everything in order to offer their child a better quality of life. After all of these years however, they have reached a dead end and they are unable to cope with the cost of the protective equipment or the cost of the child’s daily treatments.

Little Daniil has been facing a lot of challenges. Things that are taken for granted for most children his age, constitute a great challenge for him. Now, his physical safety is compromised and that we cannot allow. Together, we have the power to help him! Together, we have the power to stand by this commendable family, who has been fighting for all these years, in order to offer this child a better future!
