Campaign Story

For the past 6 years, 36-year-old Georgios from the city of Katerini is daily struggling, since he cannot longer fend for himself. Due to the work-related car accident that marked him for life, he is now confined to a wheelchair, suffering from spastic quadriplegia, caused by severe brain injuries.

After being hospitalized numerous times and after being subjected to various rehabilitation treatments, this young man keeps on fighting, trying to get his life back. Even though he is fully aware of his surroundings, he can only communicate by blinking his eyes, since he is unable to speak or move. Furthermore, he is still being fed through a gastrostomy tube.  

It’s imperative that he proceeds with his home-based physiotherapy, speech and occupational therapy sessions, in order to regain his speech and motor skills and eat without a feeding tube. It’s also important that he has access to the medical expendables and equipment that are required for his daily care, since, after all these years, his family cannot longer afford their unbearable cost. 

Till this day, this smiling young man has never given up, while he keeps on fighting with all of his powers!  Let us all stand by Georgios’ side so that he can get back on his feet and get his life back!
