Nikolitsa is a 35-year-old, multi-children mother, who until recently was perfectly healthy. However, a few months ago, she realized that her right breast was tender and it was hurting a lot. She then visited her gynecologist, who after the standard clinical breast exam and ultrasound, referred her to a diagnostic center, so that she would be subjected to a breast MRI. The MRI revealed an 8 centimeter mass, therefore the doctors recommended a biopsy, which results indicated an invasive ductal carcinoma. That’s when the struggle began for Nikolitsa and her family, since the young woman will be soon subjected to a treatment plan that includes chemotherapy and radiation therapy sessions, while afterwards, she will also be subjected to a surgical resection of the tumor.  

According to the doctors who are treating her, Nikolitsa will also have to be subjected to a genetic testing in order to exclude any genetic predisposition of developing cancer to other organs. Nikolitsa is struggling, since she has a long way ahead of her, while she and her children will have to be apart until she completes her treatment plan. In addition, her family is unable to cope with the needs that have surfaced to her health condition, since the cost of the specialized tests she must be subjected to, combined with the daily expenses of the eight-member family, have brought them to a financial dead end.  

Nikolitsa is facing the greatest challenge of her life and she needs us by her side. Together, we can offer her a helping hand, so that she’ll be able to complete her treatments!
