Polidoros was a young man with a quite busy life. He had his job, his friends, a great passion for music. It all changed however, in April of 2021, when the young man lost consciousness while swimming. As soon as the bystanders realized what was happening, they pulled him out of the water and gave him first aid assistance. Polidoros however, was deprived of oxygen for several minutes which led to brain damage.

Over the past three years, Polidoros has been subjected to home-based physiotherapy and speech therapy sessions. The 29-year-old father’s condition is gradually improving, since he is now able to stand with the help of his physiotherapist. However, he is still unable to speak, while he is fed via a nasogastric tube. According to the professionals who have taken on his rehabilitation, Polidoros needs a lot more than home-base treatments. The young man needs to be admitted to a state-of-the art center, which will provide him with a specialized rehabilitation program and which will allow him to regain his speech and motor skills.

Polidoros’ parents reached out to ACT OF KINDNESS, since they are unable to cope with the cost of their son’s stay in the rehabilitation center. After, a thorough inquiry of our medical and social department, we decided to support this family, who has been experiencing this immense ordeal.  

Polidoros’ life turned upside down from one minute to the next. We cannot turn back time. We can, however, offer this young fighter the chance to get his life back!
