His life however, turned upside down in October of 22’, when the young man suffered a severe motorcycle accident. Stergios was rushed to the local hospital of the island of Rhodes. Due to the severity of his craniocerebral injuries however, he had to be airlifted to a hospital in Athens. The young man remained hospitalized for 16 whole months, while he had to be subjected to a craniectomy, as well as to an enucleation of his right eye.
Over the past two months, the 29-year-old fighter has been hospitalized in a rehabilitation center, where he is subjected to an intensive physiotherapy program, since he hasn’t yet regained his motor skills. The center’s medical staff is confident that he will make a full recovery. In order however, to get back on his feet and to regain his autonomy, the young man will have to remain hospitalized for a few more months.
